Glossary: |
1
- |
Abstraction |
The
construction of concepts in memory from the form and
behavior of object instances in simulation. E.g. the
instance of 'a glass of wine' in simulation, is abtracted
to the concepts liquid, red, glass, container. And to
settings, circumstances, behaviors etc. |
2
- |
Binding |
An
association or mutual affect between objects or behaviors |
3
- |
Beliefs |
Memory
records of objects and behaviors, usually episodic,
presumed consistent with perceptions of reality |
4
- |
Concepts |
Generic
categories or classes of 3D objects, behaviors and empathic
states |
5
- |
Empathy |
The
estimation of the emotional states of objects (usually
animated characters) |
6
- |
Episodic
Memory |
Sequences
of animation memories (scripts), based on modality input
streams (exposure to reality) |
7
- |
Instantiate |
To match 3D objects from memory to (usually) language
or 2D vision patterns (bitmaps) to form a 3D simulation |
8
- |
Intentionality |
Physical
action aligned to a prior, graded, mental simulation
- (instigated and guided by beliefs) |
9
- |
Metaphor |
The
substitution of objects, environments or behaviors of
similar form within a scene |
10
- |
Modalities |
The
means to perceive reality - For humans, these are our
5 senses, vision, hearing etc. |
11
- |
Morph |
The
most structurally coherent blending or shape merging
of objects or behaviors |
12
- |
Qualia |
The
process of conscious simulations being emotionally graded
and believed to contain the essences of reality |
13
- |
Render |
The translation
of a 3D scene to a static 2D image plane with set light
sources and perspective |
14
- |
Satiation |
The
saturation of cognitive novelty response, such that
the data becomes discounted |
| 15
- |
Tween |
The
creation of in-between simulation time frames of motion
or morphing trajectories |
| |
