The
human mind is the synthesis of many processes operating
concurrently. Although a single powerful computer can
run concurrent processes, a cluster of independent machines
will offer better resilience and scalability
The
use of PC technology leverages the massive worldwide
hardware and software efforts centered around that platform. Graphics processor units
(GPU's) are currently advancing at twice the rate of
CPU's. Can this hardware technology in any way help
advance AI?
Analyze
technology roadmap's of Nvidia, Intel and AMD etc. to
estimate the characteristics and performance of future
hardware architectures. But the main challenge for AI is
software. By current trends, the hardware will be ready
well enough in time. It is the software breakthroughs
we need right now.
